Our Objectives


Created in 1996, the Conseil culturel et artistique francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CCAFCB) is the official provincial advocate for Francophone arts and culture, bringing together BC Francophone and Francophile artists and associations with a cultural and artistic mandate.

The mission of the CCAFCB is to facilitate dialogue, networking and collaboration among community organizations and Francophone/Francophile artists. It provides Francophone/Francophile artists and presenters with a common forum and it actively supports the initiatives of the Francophone/Francophile arts and culture sector. At the heart of the CCAFCB are representation, development and promotion of Francophone/Francophile arts and culture in British Columbia.

Our Mandate

  • To create a sense of belonging and pride by fostering the cultural development of the British Columbia Francophone/Francophile community
  • To represent and defend the cultural and artistic interests of the BC Francophone/Francophile community
  • To raise community awareness of the importance of creating cultural space for the Francophone/Francophile community
  • To promote Francophone/Francophile arts and culture and to increase the accessibility of cultural products for the community
  • To promote cultural exchanges and support creativity
  • To develop programs supporting the activities and cultural products of the community
  • To collaborate with artistic circles, the community and its members in the creation of artistic and cultural projects
  • To act as liaison to governmental, paragovernmental and private organizations involved in culture

  • To offer training and workshops, and participate in the development of artists and associations working in the arts in French
